Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about PTE mock tests

What is included in each 2026 mock test?
Each mock test follows the 2026 PTE Academic format with all 4 sections: Speaking (Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Retell Lecture, Answer Short Question, Summarize Group Discussion — NEW, Respond to a Situation — NEW), Writing (Summarize Written Text, Write Essay), Reading (Fill in the Blanks, Multiple Choice, Re-order Paragraphs, Reading & Writing Fill Blanks), and Listening (Summarize Spoken Text, Multiple Choice, Fill in the Blanks, Highlight Correct Summary, Select Missing Word, Highlight Incorrect Words, Write from Dictation). All scored on 10-90 scale with AI evaluation.
How long does each 2026 mock test take?
Each complete mock test takes approximately 2 hours 15 minutes (135 minutes), matching the 2026 PTE Academic exam duration: Part 1 Speaking & Writing (76-84 min), Part 2 Reading (23-30 min), Part 3 Listening (29-36 min). You can save progress and continue later.
How is AI scoring calculated?
Each section is scored on a 10-90 scale. Speaking uses AI evaluation for fluency, pronunciation, content, and vocabulary. Writing is scored on content, form, grammar, vocabulary, and spelling. Reading and Listening use answer-based scoring with negative marking where applicable. Your overall score combines all 4 sections.
Can I retake the same mock test?
Yes! You can retake any mock test multiple times. Each attempt will be scored independently, allowing you to track your improvement over time.
What are the new 2026 question types?
Pearson introduced two new task types in 2026: Summarize Group Discussion (listen to a 3-person audio discussion and provide a spoken summary) and Respond to a Situation (respond appropriately to a real-life scenario). These test spontaneous, real-world communication skills beyond traditional templates.
What browser features are needed?
Microphone access is required for Speaking sections (Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Retell Lecture, Summarize Group Discussion, Respond to Situation). Browser TTS is used for audio playback in listening tasks. Chrome or Edge recommended for best compatibility.
